Three new buildings (white footprints) are sensetively fitted among 7 historic existing builidngs (gray footprints) to provide an additional 83 units of senior housing at The Altenheim in Oakland.

The new buildings are conservative but stately, to compliment the existing structures without detracting from them.

Stepping down to meet the residential street, the increased density is not obvious and blends well with the beautifully landscaped site.
