This apartment building in Hercules, CA, is now home to 52 seniors. It sits atop the Civic Center hillside with a commanding view of the valley and hills beyond, and is immediately adjacent to the Senior Center, the Public Library, another senior apartment building, and a neighborhood of single family homes.

The front entry is guarded by a long curved loggia wrapping the driveway and is sheltered by a low-slung porch and overlooking deck. A fountain off to the side and a coffee bar just inside the lobby make the entry a social focal point for residents.

The lobby and the community room open up onto a sunny rear courtyard with fruit trees, a common vegetable garden, and a bocce court. A second floor exersize room and a third floor beauty salon also overlook this space.
